Scouting St. Viator at St. Patrick

St. Viator (3-1, 1-1) at St. Patrick (3-1, 1-1)

When: 7:30 p.m. today at Hanson Stadium, Chicago

Last week: St. Viator d. Nazareth 34-21; St. Patrick lost to Marian Catholic 49-33

Outlook: St. Viator's secondary will be the primary focus against prolific St. Patrick QB Ryan Tentler, who has thrown for more than 1,100 yards. He threw for 395 yards and 2 TDs in last week's shootout loss where both teams had 500-plus yards of total offense and had 6 TD passes in a rout of Proviso East. "They throw it quick and they throw it on time and that makes it harder for pressure to get to them," said Viator coach Chris Kirkpatrick. "We'll have to be sound and disciplined. We have to be a little more consistent." The Shamrocks, who beat New Trier 28-14 and Nazareth 24-7, have a variety of threats in Dennis Lemke, Guy DiBalsamo and Kevin Furlong. The Lions continued to put points on the board with QB Cameron Korab (711 total yards, 8 TDs), but they will be without DL Anthony Pensa, who tried but was unable to return from a torn ACL and will need surgery. Viator won last year's meeting 52-14 and the two teams have split 16 meetings since 1985.
