Scouting Harvard at Hampshire

Harvard (3-5, 1-3) at Hampshire (1-7, 1-3)

When: today at 7 p.m. at Hampshire Athletic Field

Story Continues Below

Last year: Harvard 33, Hampshire 20

Last week: Marengo 44, Hampshire 21; Richmond-Burton 58, Harvard 35

Outlook: Hampshire's final tour through the Big Northern Conference has been a difficult one. The Whip-Purs enter Week 9 with just one victory to their credit: a 21-20 victory at North Boone (4-4). When one injured Whip-Pur would return to the lineup, it seemed another would be added to the injury list. With injuries to multiple two-way players, the roster was stretched thin early in the season and remained thin. Thus, a victory in the season finale would act as the salve Hampshire has sought for weeks. "We want to go out giving our seniors a win," Hampshire coach Dan Cavanaugh said. "That's something we've talked about. It's been a very frustrating year and that would go a long way toward making things a little bit better. It's about the seniors. They've put in four good years."
