Hillenmeyer addresses injury prevention at Naperville North

Hunter Hillenmeyer, a former Bears linebacker who dealt with concussions as a player, will tell his story and offer prevention tips to parents and youth athletes at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Naperville North High School. He will be joined by athletic trainers and orthopedic surgeons/sports injury specialists from Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.

The event will focus on the top five sports injuries sustained by Illinois high school athletes: knee injuries (patella tendinitis/ACL/MCL), shoulder overuse/dislocation, back pain, wrist injuries (sprain/fracture) and concussion.

Hillenmeyer also is scheduled to speak to parents and athletes at 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at Hinsdale Central High School.
