North Chicago handles Round Lake

North Chicago 49, Round Lake 20: The visiting Warhawks prevailed the season finale for both squads.

North Chicago, which snapped a four-game losing streak, finished 4-5 and 2-4 in the North Suburban Prairie Division. Round Lake fell to 1-8, 0-6 with its seventh straight defeat.

“We had goals of finishing better than we will, but that being said, I am very proud of our guys and their hard work,” first-year Round Lake coach Jordan Eder said this week. “We are trying to build a program here, and that can’t happen right away. It will take time and a lot of hard work. I’m very proud of our seniors for buying in this year and setting the bar high for our expectations of this program moving forward. In every loss we had this year our kids continued to fight and play hard at every level, and that’s all we can ask for. We will work very hard this off season and continue to improve each year.”
