Christian Liberty falls to Hiawatha

Corrects to reflect Kirkland Hiawatha winning, contrary to early score provided by Associated Press.

Kirkland Hiawatha 40, Christian Liberty 7: Kirkland Hiawatha freshman quarterback Ethan Hoffman was 11-of-15 for 173 yards and 3 touchdown as the host Hawks posted a 40-7 victory over Christian Liberty in the Northeastern Athletic Conference match on Friday.

Hiawatha, improved 1-1 and 1-0 in the conference while the Chargers slipped to 0-2.

The Hawks led 14-7 after one quarter and scored 26 points in the second quarter to cap the game's scoring.

Christian Liberty plays its home opener next weekend against Chicago Hope Academy, scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday in Arlinton Heights.
