Elk Grove, Azeez hope to crack Barrington defense

Elk Grove (0-2) at Barrington (2-0)When: Friday, 7 p.m.

Last year: Barrington 41, Elk Grove 13

Outlook: Elk Grove gave Fremd a huge scare last week when the Grens rallied from a 31-7 deficit to cut the lead to just 3 points before finally succumbing. Elk Grove did it on the ground, thanks to the running of Alabi Azeez, who had 3 TDs and 111 rushing yards. Azeez may run into an iron curtain on the Barrington side with a defense that has allowed just 1 TD in the last 6 quarters of football. Meanwhile the Broncos have their own solid running attack in Nate King, who has rushed for 316 yards and 5 touchdowns this year along with Johnny Davidson, who has run for 166 yards while throwing for 308 yards.
