Hinsdale Central, Glenbard West should be a good one

Hinsdale Central (5-0, 3-0) at Glenbard West (5-0, 3-0)

Game time: 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Last week: Hinsdale Central 48, Proviso West 7; Glenbard West 35, Lyons Twp. 0.

Last year: Glenbard West 42, Hinsdale Central 7.

Outlook: The season's top game in the Silver also figures to be one of the state's top games. Even though they haven't beaten Glenbard West since 2006, the Red Devils have their best shot in years. Despite relying on first-year starters at nearly every offensive skill position, Hinsdale Central's offense has been near unstoppable behind Michigan State-bound offensive lineman Matt Allen and Doug Kramer. Quarterback Michael Sessa's been a model of efficiency, throwing for 1,031 yards, 14 touchdowns and only 1 interception in an offense averaging 44 points. Four receivers boast at least 15 catches, headed by Brad Huth's 36, which puts a bunch of pressure on Glenbard West's secondary led in part by Kobe Easley. The Red Devils' defense will have its own issues containing Glenbard West's ground game with Vanderbilt-bound Sam Brodner, Isaiah Skinner and Dominick Ficarella. Quarterback Brian Cochrane's ability to keep the defense honest is crucial.

Next week: Lyons Twp. at Hinsdale Central; Glenbard West at Oak Park.
