Name: Xavier Lee
School: Glenbard North
Grunt bona fides: Of the 58 offensive plays Glenbard North ran Friday against Wheaton Warrenville South, the 5-foot-10, 215-pound fullback was in there blocking on 45 of them without running the ball once. In three starts at fullback, Lee has no carries and 1 pass reception for 3 yards.
Don't tell my coach that: I like hitting. If I like it, it makes us be tougher, run the ball more, and then I get my chance to hit even more. Like reverse psychology, almost.
If I could change one thing about football: Nothing, really. I love the sport the way it is. I don't think I would change anything.
Team not on our schedule I wish we could play: Probably Warren High School out in Gurnee. My uncle coaches a Little League team and sometimes I see their high school players. It'd be a chance to play those guys.
How I'll celebrate if I score a TD: Run the ball to the ref, be old school.
Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat: I would say Instagram. I like taking pictures.
What I like best about my school: The tradition. They've been keeping up traditions for years and years and years. That's what makes Glenbard North special.
Something about me that would surprise you: I'm actually pretty fast, but I don't really get to showcase it as much because I'm blocking.
Other sports I play: I do long jump and high jump in track.
Favorite actor: I'd say Denzel (Washington). I like that he can play in any type of movie. No matter what the role is it looks like he was born to play that role, like he can adapt to anything.
Favorite actress: I have to say Angela Bassett. She's my mom's (Annette Alston) favorite actress, so I just like her, with my mom, because I would watch a bunch of movies with her.
Favorite athlete: Marshawn Lynch. Toughness, shows no weakness. Very gritty. Determined.
Favorite musician: I'm actually going to say my church choir. It brings me back to the old times, it kind of calms me. I listen to it before the games, it makes me feel right.
Sixteen Wheaton Academy players ran the ball at least once in the Warriors' 46-6 win over Chicago Christian. With the game in hand linemen and linebackers rotated into the offensive backfield for carries. Junior Graham Wall gained 10 yards on his sole attempt.
