Week 5: Scouting the Chicago Catholic

DeLaSalle (4-0, 0-0) at St. Francis (0-4, 0-1)Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The quick hit: Spartans coach Joe Lepsche's keys are team play, hustle. Sophomore quarterback Patch England spelled John Brundage, dinged against Loyola; both vie for the spot. Defensive backs like Vince D'Orazio must keep DeLaSalle's

speed in front of them.

Marmion (4-0, 1-0) at Montini (1-3, 0-1)Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The quick hit: Montini has suffered a brutal schedule and injuries to key players. This Chicago Catholic League Green game may provide a respite. Marmion is undefeated but its four wins are against teams a combined 2-14; Montini's first foes are a combined 13-3. The combined record of Marmion's next five opponents: 14-6. Montini's record is deceiving. The Broncos lost to Maine South (4-0), DeLaSalle (4-0) and Brother Rice (4-0) and defeated Lake Zurich (3-1).

Aurora Christian (1-3) at DePaul (2-2)

When: 4:15 p.m. Friday at Lane Stadium

Quick hit: Turnovers have been a problem for Aurora Christian. Last Friday, two quarterbacks combined to throw 6 interceptions and the Eagles lost 2 fumbles. "We've got to win four of the next five. That's really what it comes down to," Aurora Christian coach David Beebe after last week's 41-point loss to DeLaSalle.
