Naperville North starts fast vs. Metea, rolls to DVC win

Naperville North bounced back in a big way from last week's overtime loss to Naperville Central with a 59-14 victory over Metea Valley.

Naperville North (5-2, 2-2 in the DuPage Valley Conference) started the scoring on the first play from scrimmage when Nathan Jacobs took a swing pass from Aidan Gray and went 84 yards down the left sideline for a touchdown.

Peyton Seiple made it 14-0 when he scored on a 9-yard touchdown catch from Gray.

Gray took it himself for the third score on a 1-yard run. Danny Eloe's 12-yard touchdown run put the Huskies ahead 28-0.

Metea Valley (1-6, 1-3) got on the scoreboard on quarterback Noah Larson's 71-yard touchdown run.

The Huskies responded with Gray's 41-yard bomb to Luke Williams with just 1:02 left in the first half to take a 35-7 lead, which kicker David Olano extended to 38-7 at halftime with a 32-yard field goal.

Eloe started the second half with a 43-yard touchdown run up the middle.

Larson came up with an even bigger play than his 71-yard touchdown to open the fourth quarter. On a 3rd-and-14 with the ball inside his own 1-yard line, Larson connected with Robert Lynch on a 99-yard touchdown.

Naperville North plays Waubonsie Valley next week while the Mustangs face Naperville Central.
