Even though the Broncos gave up points in the second half, thus halting their shutout streak, they scored once more as well as quarterback Tommy FitzPatrick went in from 1 yard out.

Three consecutive completions put Evanston at the Fremd 8-yard line with a first-and-goal and just over a minute left in the game.

Four incomplete passes in the end zone sealed the win for Fremd.

"Iron Will is not perfect," said Fremd coach Lou Sponsel. "It is a mindset and we had to readjust it at halftime.

"We told the kids that they had to have unconditional confidence on every play of the second half and we would win this game."
