Hockey game Wednesday in memory of Barrington High graduate

Luke Harrod Hutson Foundation will host its inaugural Family Skate and Tribute Hockey Game, beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Barrington Ice Arena, 28205 W. Commercial Ave., Lake Barrington.

The event is a fundraiser for the foundation, created in memory of Luke, an 18-year-old Barrington High School graduate who died in July from injuries suffered in an all-terrain vehicle accident. Luke, who played football and hockey at Barrington High, planned to attend Indiana University in the fall.

The foundation was created to provide annual football, hockey and mission trip scholarships to support local area athletes and teens.

The event Wednesday will feature a family skate from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a hockey game featuring Barrington High alumni. There also will be a silent auction with items including Chicago Blackhawks, Bulls and Cubs tickets; Broncos spirit wear; hockey skills and goalie camps; and a hockey stick signed by the 2018 Blackhawks.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and children 6 and under. For tickets, visit www.thelukeharrodhutsonfoundation.com.
