Glenbrook North stops Elk Grove

Glenbrook North 34, Elk Grove 24: Elk Grove remains winless this season, but again the Grenadiers were competitive.

In their Week 3 matchup at Central Suburban North foe Glenbrook North on Friday, Elk Grove came up short 34-24.

The Grens slipped to 0-3, while the Spartans remain unbeaten at 3-0.

"We had moments in the game where we had our opportunities," said Elk Grove coach Miles Osei. "We just didn't rise to the occasion.

"We need to learn to find out how to do that and get better."

Grens quarterback Tyler Selvig had 3 rushing touchdowns, and Vinny Fasiano caught a TD pass from Selvig. But the Grens went 0-for-4 on 2-point PATs.

Elk Grove will host Niles North in Week 4 to complete its regular-season matchups against Central Suburban League foes.
