Highland Park, Lakes postponed

Highland Park/Lakes postponed: Highland Park senior running back Tom Motzko began the game by screaming "set the tone" - and before weather suspended the Giants' nonconference game against Lakes, that's exactly what Highland Park did.

Highland Park began the game with a two-play scoring drive, Motzko finishing it with a 19-yard rush.

At the end of the first quarter, the Giants led 21-6, but the Eagles were driving. Senior quarterback Jeff Nielson led the Lakes on a 66-yard touchdown drive to open the second quarter, with senior D'Lo Hardy scoring for the Eagles.

At the half, the game was postponed, leaving the score at 21-14 in favor of Highland Park.
