CHAMPAIGN -- Playing in its first football state championship game in program history, St. Charles North fell short Saturday, losing to Nazareth Academy 31-10 in the Class 7A title game at Memorial Stadium.

The North Stars finished the season 10-4.

Nazareth, which finished second in Class 6A last year, closed out their season at 13-1.

The state title is Nazareth's third in program history and the seventh overall for coach Tim Racki, who won four state championships in a row at Driscoll.
