West Chicago (0-4, 0-4) at Elgin (0-4, 0-4)
Upstate Eight Conference
Game time: 6:45 p.m. Thursday.
Outlook: The teams must ramp up early because the game was moved from 7:30 p.m. Friday to avoid anticipated storms. West Chicago has had trouble with turnovers coming in bunches, letting foes strike quickly. Otherwise the Wildcats have gotten a boost from fullback Oscar Luna in the ground game, to support quarterback Luke Krogh and receivers Mark Pinkevich and Mason Wright. Wildcats coach Tyler Belding hopes defensive ends Erick Ndayishimiye and Wagdi Demir can contain Elgin's quarterback combo of Jeffery Lomax and particularly scrambler Gio Griffin, the Maroons' leading rusher. Otherwise they'll extend plays and get the ball to Xavier Bonds and Alex West, who have caught 21 and 23 passes, respectively. Adding to that wealth, Derrien Jackson caught 5 passes for 122 yards last week against Bartlett.
