Lake Forest routs Stevenson

Aggressive.

It paid off for Lake Forest (2-1) against Stevenson (0-3) early on in its opening drive Friday night in a North Suburban Conference battle in front of a big crowd on a gorgeous night in Lake Forest.

The Scouts, known for their aggressive style on offense, especially on fourth downs, converted two of them on the opening drive, including a fake punt, en route to a 42-17 home victory over conference rival Stevenson.

It was a well-balanced effort on both sides of the ball for Lake Forest, which led 21-10 at the half.

Jahari Scott paced the Scouts throughout the night with tough and physical running. Senior quarterback Leo Schiedler played a well-balanced game both running the ball while providing timely completions.

In a contest both teams needed to win in order to keep their playoffs hopes alive the Scouts jumped out to a 14-7 lead after a 59-yard TD pass from Schiedler to fellow senior Cade Nowik.

Lake Forest improves to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in NSC play, while Stevenson falls to 3-0 and 0-1 in the NSC
