Prospect quarterback Steve Dazzo rushed for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns and Grant DePalma rushed for two scores in a 40-7 Mid-Suburban East football victory Friday night at Rolling Meadows.

Dazzo's 61-yard run put the Knights (5-1, 2-0), who became playoff eligible with the win, up 13-0 just 5:29 into the game. But Meadows (3-3, 1-1) came back with its only score as sophomore quarterback Jack Milas hit Scott Shewmon with a 10-yard pass to cut the deficit to 13-7.

Prospect had the ball for 10½ minutes of the third quarter and scored on 82- and 67-yard drives. The defense allowed only 68 total yards until there was three minutes to play and Peter Bonahoom, Patrick Inserra, Ryan Ward and Joe Randazzo had interceptions.

Running backs Justin Wallace (14 carries, 77 yards, 2 touchdowns) and Ronald Hauser (9 carries, 28 yards), and quarterback Sam Beutler (7 carries, 69 yards) paved the way for a ground attack that picked up 205 yards.

Hoffman fumbled the ball 10 times, most of them on muffed punts and errant option pitches from the quarterback.

Fremd only recovered one of the fumbles, but it held Hoffman at a huge field position disadvantage the entire second half. Fremd only started one second half possession in its own territory, and it was the final possession of the game, which began at Fremd's 48.
