Addison Trail (1-0) at Oak Park (1-0)

Nonconference

Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday

Last week: Oak Park 14, Lincoln-Way East 13; Addison Trail 19, Glenbard South 14.

Last year: Did not play.

Outlook: Like last year's WSC crossover against Hinsdale Central, which was coming off a big season-opening win over Bolingbrook, Addison Trail must contend with a hot team.

The Huskies opened strong by beating Lincoln-Way East, signaling a potentially tough road trip for the Blazers. Oak Park junior quarterback Jeremy Hunt shined in his first start, and the defense came up with a fourth-down stop late in the fourth quarter to preserve the win.

It was no surprise that Addison Trail leaned on its ground game last week. Mike Hundley rushed for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns as quarterback Ryan Zygowicz settled in with a new group of receivers. The Blazers' defense, while solid, has room for improvement after allowing too many third-and-long conversions.

Nick Fugarino's 2 picks were among four takeaways. Lineman Matt Domek was invaluable while playing on both sides of the ball. With warm weather expected, the Blazers hope to spell Domek more this week.

Next week: Oak Park at Morton; Addison Trail at Willowbrook.
