Winning weekend for MSL football teams

Consider it a winning weekend for the high school football teams of the Mid-Suburban League.

In the conference's set of games Friday night against foes from the Central Suburban League, the MSL's 12 teams finished with a record of 9-3.

Included in that total were victories for the MSL against two of the CSL's strongest programs, Maine South and New Trier. Barrington topped Maine South 41-27, while Fremd handled New Trier 45-28.

The same conferences have one more week of games against one another before starting play against their divisional foes.

In Week 4, the Central Suburban League will host all 12 games on Friday night.

The MSL West Division slate includes Barrington at Evanston, Fremd at Glenbrook South, Conant at Maine South, Palatine at New Trier and Schaumburg at Highland Park.

From the MSL East, it's Rolling Meadows at Maine West, Buffalo Grove at Vernon Hills, Elk Grove at Niles West, Hersey at Niles North, Prospect at Glenbrook North and Wheeling at Deerfield.
